Artist : Wasinburee Supanichvoraparch<\/span><\/p>\n The journey of I Jud, from Bangkok to Rachaburi.<\/span> \n\tRachaburi is a pass-through town that is typically forgotten like many other small towns of Thailand.<\/p>\n \n\tA lot of the things that emerged here are all built by the efforts of our community without help or fundings from any source.<\/p>\n \n\tArt is one of the many things we have been trying to plant here. We often questioned why art only lives and grows in big cities like Bangkok and other major tourism towns. We too want to see art dwells in our small community. This has been the very reason why we have initiated many projects dedicated especially to art for the past 10 years, namely<\/p>\n \n\tChapter 75 Clay Overture, Chapter 77 Rakuza, Dek Fuk Hud 1-2, Microcosm by Stephan Wegerer (German artist) , Pen Bang Arai Bang, Tid Sin, and Domestic Ware; including many art exhibitions held within the district of Rachaburi city. And also very recently, a project called Plokrati Sin (Art Normal), where we put local towners in the center of the exhibition using more than 70 random locations transforming them into art galleries with a our beliefs that – Every house is a gallery and every place is an art museum.<\/p>\n \n\tAnd today our commitments have bare fruit.<\/p>\n \n\tIt is exciting to see that the Rachaburi Municiple has bravely approved a budget for the city’s new campaign – “Rachaburi, a contemporary sculpture town”. Large art sculpture will be acquired from artists such as Mr. Taweesak Srithong and many more sculpture works from Silapakorn University and placed throughout the town.<\/p>\n \n\tWhat's more exciting is that there will be an Art Map for the cyclers, taking them from sculpture to sculpture so the tourists can enjoy both accelerating contemporary arts as well as the charming culture of Rachaburi community.<\/p>\n \n\tI Jud is a large sculpture of a dog as tall as 3 meters, made out of “Acrylic Syrup” a durable and flexible material developed by SCG Chemicals that is perfect for outdoor sculpture work. I Jud will be placed in front of Bangkok Art and Culture Centre, signifying a journey of art that will creep and crawl on to many communities of Thailand.<\/p>\n \n\tWhat we do today was never intended for the benefit of our city.
