For the third Cinema Diverse, five international films, selected by five acclaimed Thai directors, will be shown bi-monthly from March \u2013 November 2015, followed by a talk with the Thai director after each screening.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>The first screening on Saturday 14 March 2015 is supported by the Embassy of the United States of America. Frances Ha (USA\/2012) is directed by Noah Baumbach. It has been chosen by Nawapol Thamrongrattanarit, the talented young Thai director of Mary Is Happy, Mary Is Happy, 36 and The Master.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Frances Ha has been screened in many international film festivals and was nominated for Best Actress (Comedy or Musical) at the Golden Globes (2014) and Best International Independent Film at British Independent Film Awards (2014).<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\u201cFrances Ha is like a checklist for all the confusions a graduate faces. The series of both short and long events unfold in the film telling stories of worry, fear and loss. The themes of lost childhood dream, and longing for the past are major themes throughout. Frances is an annoying but adorable character. We can easily empathise with her confusion through events that are at times comedic and at time tragic. The chosen films address diverse cultural and social issues from which the audience can gain new ideas and perspectives.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>All five screenings of Cinema Diverse: Director&#8217;s Choice 2015 will be shown bi-monthly from March \u2013 November 2015.
