\n\tBangkok Art and Culture Centre, in cooperation with ASIATOPIA International Performance Art Festival, organized the first ASIATOPIA Talk in 2014. The objective of the Talk is to act as an open platform for the artists and the public to exchange ideas around performance art as well as to allow further interpretation of the concept behind each work.<\/div>\n
\n\t <\/div>\n
\n\tThe second talk is a part of AISATOPIA International Performance Art Festival#17\/2015. Talking about Guyu Action Contemporary Performance Art Festival is a Performance art festival in Xi’an, China, founded in 2007 by the Xi’an artist group. Situated at the Xiang Xishi Contemporary Art Centre, a non-profit organization dedicated to Contemporary art production in Xi’an Ban Po International Art District, the Xi’an group is committed to promote contemporary art in Xi’an and to preserve avant-garde art in Chinese artistic trends. The activities organized by the centre include performance art, Chinese Contemporary art multi-faceted research promotional events, and modern and traditional art exhibitions. <\/div>\n
\n\t <\/div>\n
\n\tASIATOPIA Talk 2015 will be organized in four intervals: July, October, November, and December. Each attempts to focus on different aspects and highlights on the experiences shared by the artists who will be the speakers. The talk aims to present the artists’ work approach, inspiration, and allow the audience to admire the practice of performance art.<\/div>\n

\n\tAbout the Speaker<\/strong><\/div>\n
\n\tXiang Xishi<\/div>\n
\n\tBorn and raised in Xi’an since 1970, Xiang Xishi – a graduate from Xi’an Fine Art Academy – is one of the founders of Xiang Xishi Contemporary Art Centre and Guyu Action Performance Art Festival. Aside from producing performance art, Xiang Xishi is also interested in and works on applied Chinese brush painting.<\/div>\n
