\n‘Tangled: \u0e15\u0e34\u0e14 – \u0e23\u0e48\u0e32\u0e07 – \u0e41\u0e2b’, a new art exhibition highlighting the devastating impact of marine plastic and discarded ghost nets on our ocean and marine wildlife globally, will open to the public from 11th-27th February 2022. The exhibition is hosted by the Environmental Justice Foundation and Love Wildlife Foundation and will take place at the Studio room on the 4th floor of the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre (Bacc).<\/p>\n
The exhibition is supported by the ‘Rethinking Plastics – Circular Economy Solution to Marine Litter’ project of the European Union and the German Federal Government, together with the Norwegian Retailer’s Environment Fund and the Rufford Foundation.<\/p>\n
Using art installations and photographs, Tangled: \u0e15\u0e34\u0e14 – \u0e23\u0e48\u0e32\u0e07 – \u0e41\u0e2b aims to raise awareness of the widespread impacts of marine litter with a focus on discarded fishing nets and single-use plastics. These plastics threaten the lives of marine animals and cause severe damage to marine ecosystems. The event features four Thai artists whose work is inspired by these environmental issues. Narongyot Thongyu, Natalie Limwatana and Satit Raksasri, use marine plastic waste to create pieces of art that provoke solutions-focussed conversations around marine litter. Conservation photographer, photojournalist, and marine biologist, Sirachai (Shin) Arunrugstichai, will showcase underwater images highlighting the impacts of ghost fishing gear and plastic waste on our fragile marine ecosystems.<\/p>\n
