\nThe screening presents two films by Austrian artist Kay Walkowiak that playfully explore our perception of art. In Requiem, <\/em>the formal language of abstract art is contrasted with a romantic mountain landscape. <\/p>\n

Troubled Objects <\/em>refers to numerous icons of (Austrian) art history who are being treated for their "troubles" in Vienna – the birthplace of Sigmund Freud’s psychoanalysis. Humorous and critical at the same time, the two films explore what visual forms reveal about the cultural and intellectual history from which they originate.<\/p>\n

In addition to the film screenings the event includes an artist talk with Kay Walkowiak and a presentation of his work by curator, historian and writer, Stephanie Damianitsch.<\/p>\n
