Artists<\/strong> Juries<\/strong> EYP#9: Actions Speak Louder?<\/em> <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Early Years Project #9 (EYP#9)<\/strong> is the ninth edition of the Early Years Project, an artist incubation and networking programme presented in 2026. The project aims to support emerging artists by providing opportunities to express themselves and develop their contemporary art practices; to offer financial support that enables the further development of skills and knowledge in contemporary art; and to foster collaboration by connecting artists with relevant networks in the contemporary art field. The project also seeks to encourage selected artists to cultivate long-term self-reliance and professional growth through the development of essential knowledge and skills necessary for their future artistic careers. EYP#9 is organised by the Exhibition Department of the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre (BACC) under the conceptual framework Actions Speak Louder?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Artists selected for EYP#9 are required to develop their works in direct response to the conditions of the Main Exhibition Gallery on the 7th floor of BACC. This spatial limitation is intended as a learning framework, encouraging artists to work within constraints, develop problem-solving skills, and adapt their attitudes, planning processes, and working methods with flexibility in response to situational challenges. Throughout the programme, participating artists will engage in a series of workshops and practical activities, including the exploration of artistic identity and positionality within the contemporary art field; personal branding and the articulation of artistic individuality; social integration and modes of engagement; strategies for networking and collaboration; identifying opportunities within contemporary cultural currents; exhibition design and installation practices; open studio sessions for peer exchange and critique; and familiarisation with international art organisations and institutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n At the conclusion of the programme, three artists will be selected as award recipients. Each will receive a monetary prize along with opportunities for professional exchange and artistic development at both national and international levels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Early Years Project (EYP)<\/strong> is an ongoing initiative by the BACC that has been organised eight times prior to this edition, with a total of 69 emerging artists having participated to date. The project places emphasis on artist incubation as a process, aiming to equip emerging artists with the knowledge, skills, experience, and capacity to adapt their creative practices to professional artistic pathways in both local and international contexts. These pathways include artistic production, exhibition-making in public spaces, critical analysis and interpretation of artistic meaning, and collaboration with broader artistic ecosystems involving curators, critics, and scholars.<\/p>\n\n\n\n A core principle of the project is the cultivation of collaborative networks among artists and across sectors through the integration of knowledge from diverse disciplines. This approach enables artists to apply acquired skills to their own practices and to sustain their work across the artistic, commercial, and public domains.
