The Logo of Bangkok Art and Culture Centre consists of 2 parts, which are<\/p>\n

  2. The letters BACC<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div>\n

    The history of the logo<\/h2>\n

    Bangkok Metropolitan Administration held a public Bangkok Art and Culture Centre Logo Contest from 15 June to 31 August 2005 to give a chance for people to participate in designing the logo. There were 280 submissions from 156 Thai competitors and 4 foreign competitors, of which 118 are male and 38 are female.<\/p>\n

    The best 8 pieces were selected, with the first prize by Pakpoom Lamulpan, a freelance designer, winning 100,000 baht and a certificate.<\/p>\n

    Concept and Meanings<\/h2>\n

    The concept of Pakpoom is to universalise Thainess by using a sign that could be interpreted in different ways depending on the audience, which is one of the characteristics of contemporary art. The figure of the circles reflects the Thainess in both the view of a Thai temple and colourful modern Bangkok, also introducing contemporary art to the general people. Since a circle is a simple shape, it helps ease up the feeling of the viewer toward art. Moreover, the overlapping circles are similar to the area of BACC that consists of people who come for activities.<\/p>\n

    The logo was further developed, adding colours and varying the dots, signifying diversity and participation, as part of the graphic guidelines for the centre, by Santi Lawrachawee of Pratical Studio.<\/p>\n
