Cinema Diverse 2017: The Invisible Hands Festival – “Flapping in the Middle of Nowhere”. This is the first movie of the Vietnamese female director, NGUYEN HOANG DIEP, presenting the perspective of sexuality especially social oppression from a female expectations, abortion, prostitution and maternity through the life of Huyen, a teenage girl who get unintentionally pregnant from her useless boyfriend. So she finds herself forced to fall into prostitution in order to save money for an abortion. Ironically, the only customer who is willing to pay is a man who is obsessed with pregnant women and, surprisingly, Huyen falls in love with him too. - Immediate source of acquisition or transfer
