Sound Art might be a form of art using sound as a medium encompassing various branches of arts and technology. To understand sound art, one might begin with sounds one hears in daily life, sound has many characteristics depending nature of its origin; a violin sounds different from drum, sound of horn honking from a car is different from traveling sound of BTS Sky Train. Even each of human’s voice is different because of its unique quality. Sound travels on its own path with its frequency, volume, vibration, and speed. At this sound talk, we will get to know different types of sound, decode sound by learning about its characteristics, familiarizing sound we might hear in daily life in a different way, or understanding sound being used as a medium in an artwork.
