Thai Literature Conservation Project 3rd Year

This year’s concept is “Caring, Sharing and Unity” and young people from primary school to undergraduate level around the country were invited to submit drawings inspired by reading many kinds of traditional Thai literature, both secular and religious. A total of 1,355 pictures were submitted and 32 prizes awarded. The wisdom from Thai literature can cultivate generosity in young people and we sincerely hope they will be able to apply many of the things they learn to their daily lives.

Shin Corporation Plc has been conducting the “Thai Literature Conservation Project” for the last three years. The purpose of this project is to encourage Thai youth to read national literature. Thai literature is valued as part of our cultural heritage, describing national history and identity, so we need to preserve it within our society. The 32 winning pictures will be displayed for sale on the first floor of the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre between November 14 and 22, 2009. The gross proceeds from this sale will be donated directly to the Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Foundation, which helps to support underprivileged students.
