Destinations
The Royal Photo Exhibition “Destinations” by HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn is organized by the cooperation of the Photography Association of Thailand under the Royal Patronage of His Majesty the King, Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre and the Office of Contemporary Art and Culture, Ministry of Culture. It is open to the public to admire the royal photographic talent of Princess Sirindhorn, who has kindly granted 187 pictures taken by herself during 2008 and 2009 for this exhibition.
On this occasion, the organizers have been allowed to show a video showing Princess Sirindhorn giving presentation on her royal photographs to those coming to see the exhibition. The video will show HRH’s thoughts and ideas in taking the pictures. Some pictures will demonstrate HRH’s sense of humour and her perspectives on the various situations. The Princess also consented to the organizers providing a visitors’ book to allow visitors to show their feeling or opinion on the royal photographs in according to the wish of the Princess.
Princess Sirindhorn allows an overwhelming opportunity for the guests to purchase the “Destinations” photo book, which includes all the pictures shown at the exhibition. The photo book is published by Cyber Print Company Limited for 5,000 copies at a price of 900 baht each. All proceeds from the sale of the book will go towards Her Royal Highness Princess Sirindhorn’s charity projects.
The Princess also consented to give a selection of 25 photographs from the exhibition to the Photography Association of Thailand under the Royal Patronage of His Majesty the King for auction in raising funds for the association. The association will hold the auction of HRH’s pictures on December 18, 2009 at the Grand Hall, Plaza Athenee Bangkok, a Royal Meridien Hotel.
HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn has kindly granted her royal photographs for exhibitions for some years now, beginning with the royal photo exhibition “Light Is Colour, Colour is Light” in 2007, “Always Roaming with a Hungry Heart” in 2008 and “Destinations” in this year.
The Royal Photo Exhibition “Destinations” by HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn will be open to the public at no cost on the 9th floor of the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre, Patumwan Intersection (Siam and National Stadium BTS stations) from December 10, 2009 to January 31, 2010 from 10am – 9pm (except Mondays).
