In the framework of the “Italian Festival 2010”, organized with the cooperation of the Italian Trade Commission, the Embassy of Italy and the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre are proud to present the contemporary art exhibition “Tribute to Fenoglio and Pavese”, by Sandro Chia and Mimmo Paladino.

The exhibition will be held at the Bangkok Art & Culture Centre (3rd and 4th floor) from  the 9th of December 2010 to the 16th of January 2011 and will open to the public on the 9th of December at 6.30 pm (4.30 for the media), 4th Floor.

The exhibition will feature some refined samples of Italian contemporary art, through the original works that the two world-famous painters dedicated to the literary works of two renowned Italian writers, Beppe Fenoglio and Cesare Pavese, both coming from the region around the city of Alba (Piedmont), well known, among other, for its world-famous  wines and white truffles.

“Tribute to Fenoglio and Pavese” will offer the public a taste of the Italian trans-avant-garde art while giving them a chance to approach the literary works of two of the most renowned Italian writers of the second part of the XX century.

The exhibition conveys the strength of the bond to the land of origin, a motherland that symbolizes not only our origins and the cradle of our country’s history and culture, but also becomes a sanctuary from the troubles of our lives, a consolation to our frustrations, the only place where we can find ourselves – the mirror of our soul.
