“The Colour of the Narrative”
organized by The Embassy of Pakistan, Bangkok, Bangkok Art and Culture Centre (BACC)
From 12-22 July 2012, the Embassy of Pakistan, Bangkok, in collaboration with the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre (BACC), is organizing an exhibition of contemporary art from Pakistan.
The exhibition forms part of a series of events to celebrate the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and Thailand.
Curated by Salima Hashmi — noted artist and leading figure of the Pakistan art community — the exhibition showcases works by young and mid-career Pakistani artists — including Naiza Khan, Adeela Suleman, Ayesha Durrani, Atif Khan, Abdullah Syed, Imran Mudassar and Saba Khan.
“Pakistan’s contemporary artists today are among the most dynamic and diverse in the world. They are winning international awards, being celebrated in Biennales and Triennales, and are sought after in art auctions. This group reflects some of the diversity in the art scene,” stated Ms. Salima Hashmi.
The exhibition at BACC includes sculpture, photography, mixed media, digital works, acrylics and miniature painting.
As part of the programme, Ayesha Durrani will conduct a workshop on miniature painting on 13 July 2012 (1030-1230 hours).
Also on 13 July 2012, Salima Hashmi will deliver a talk on the Evolution of Pakistani Art (14.00 hours).
