Art Exhibtion “ Awkward จะรักหรือหลอกก็บอกตรงๆ ” presents mixed-media artworks created under the concept of ‘feeling uneasy’ when one is in the situation that cannot express everything in mind. Some feelings and emotions must be hidden, and words are expressed differently than mind desires. This is similar to tangible objects that are unable to play their roles fully, as they are defined and limited by human being. 

“Does rice cooker only remind us of food?  Can we be certain that everyone looks at rice cooker in the same way, while we all own one?”

Installation of works will be exhibited in three rooms of the People’s Gallery. Perception and meanings of works depend on personal experience of the audience. The artist invites the audience to investigate their own experiences, which might tell story, remind of the past, or even connect to the future.

Nopchai or Toi Ungkavatanapong completed his Bachelor Degree at Art Academy of Cincinnati and Master Degree at University of Cincinnati , Ohio State , USA . After graduation, he began his professional career in US, by working as a visiting instructor at Miami University and Art Academy, and exhibited frequently. He had lived in USA for 14 years until 1994 before returning to Thailand.
