Exhibition Golden Paintbrush Award

The exhibition displays ninety-four entries from 292 paintings of 260 artists in Golden Paintbrush Competition celebrating the 84th Birthday Anniversary of His Majesty the King, December 5, 2011


 

KASIKORNBANK announces the winners of the Golden Paintbrush Competition, held in honor of His Majesty the King on the auspicious occasion of His 84th Birthday Anniversary, December 5, 2011. The Grand Prize, the golden paintbrush and one million baht, go to Mr. Niwat Chootoun, a young artist from Surat Thani, for his painting, “Impressive Memory 2”.

According to Prof. Emeritus Chalood Nimsamer, Chairman of the contest committee, there were 292 paintings submitted by artists from throughout the nation.

The Committee awarded the Golden Paintbrush Grand Prize for Mr. Niwat Chootoun’s painting, “Impressive Memory 2”, depicts the contentment of the people under His Majesty the King’s gracious reign, reflected in the simple lifestyles of rural society. Guided by local folk wisdom giving rise to love and unity, hospitality and mutual assistance, the people live happily and at peace with one another.

One First Prize of 500,000 baht was awarded to Mr. Chairat Sangthong for his work, “One Breath”. Two Second Prizes of 300,000 baht each were awarded to Mr. Paiboon Thamruangrit for “In the reign of His Majesty the King, people unify efforts toward the Sufficiency Economy” and Mr. Sirichai Pummak for “Thai Compatriots in the South”. Three 200,000 baht Third Prizes were awarded to Mr. Terdsak Ponsa for “Nurtured with Virtue in the Sufficiency Pursuit”, Mr. Tanawat Suriyatongtam for “Long Live the King”, and Mr. Sornchai Kongwun for “Concern for Our Father”.

Ten Special Mentions, winning 100,000 baht each, were awarded to Mr. Chaiwat Nachan for the painting, “Cross the Ocean of Suffering”, Mr. Chamnan Prangsook for “Magic of the Woods”, Mr. Pongsiri Kiddee for “84th Birthday, Worshiping His Majesty the King of Thailand”, Mr. Pichit Paidan for “A light in the Darkness, A light of Endless Warmth”, Ms. Yameelah Hayee for “Royal Activities of the Father of the Land”, Ms. Varittha Songaksorn for “Thai Land”, Mr. Sivakorn Pumthong for “Royal Pediment (Rama IX)”, Mr. Sarawut Kanpairee for “Royal Oath of Allegiance”, Mr. Supachai Nateechaichana for “The Happy Life in the Reign of His Majesty the King” and Mr. Anuwat Laddawan for “Shine of Wit under Patronage of His Majesty the King”.
