Mr. Ignasi Terraza has been regularly working with his own trio since 1998. It is under this format that the Jazz lover has the opportunity to enjoy the best Terraza today.

Born in Barcelona, Mr. Terraza has played an important role in the Spanish Jazz scene. One of the key founding members of the Barcelona Jazz Orchestra, his personal, swinging style has placed him amongst the most-in-demand accompanists in the City, allowing him to back up many American and international stars visiting Spain: Frank Wess, Jesse Davis, Lou Donaldson, Donald Harrison, Nicolas Payton, Bobby Durham, Jeff Hamilton, Gregory Hutchinson, Alvein Quen, Gene “Mighty Flea” Conners, Teddy Edwards, Benny Golson and Brad Leali.
Most recently, the Trio was chosen to perform with Director Woody Allen in 2008 when the latter was invested with an honorary Doctorate by the University of Barcelona after his feature film Vicky, Cristina, Barcelona. On May 21st, 2009, Mr. Terraza won the 25th edition of The Great American Jazz Piano Competition, the prestigious event held in Jacksonville, Florida, since 1983. As every Jazz lover is aware, this award was won on previous editions by pianists like Marcus Roberts, Lynne Arriale or Kenny Drew Jr. One of their pieces is featured in the soundtrack of John Travolta latest (From Paris with Love, directed by Pierre Morel, 2009).
On stage, the Jazz performed by the Barcelona-born pianist and team-mates Pierre Bousasaguet and Esteve Pi, is rooted in a tradition which encompasses the first two thirds of the 20th century, when Stride, Swing, Be Bop, Cool and Hard Bop, with Blues and Spirituals in the background, set the trends that this group follow now, filled with new energy and excitement. The four recordings released by Mr. Terraza until now -”Let me tell you something” (1998), “Jazz a les fosques” (1999), “It’s coming” (2003) and “In a sentimental groove (2005)”- show his creative evolution, an increasing taste for the detail and a warmer quality in the emotions he conveys.
