Three Shorts and One Feature are Direct from Venice
Thai Film Foundation invites everybody to join the screening of special program, Direct from Venice, composed of three shorts and a feature which were officially selected into the latest edition of Venice Film Festival. After the screening, there will be a Q&A session with Paolo Bertolin, the programming staff from the festival.
Direct from Venice will be happened on Thursday 23rd December at 5 pm – 8.30 pm. at the Auditorium, 5th Fl. in Bangkok Art and Culture Centre. The entry is free of charge.
Moreover, for the filmmaker who wants to submit their work to Venice Film Festival, they can pass the work to Paolo Bertolin directly. (The work must have never been shown anywhere.)

How To Pick Berries by Elina Talvensaari, Finland (19 min)
Economy is stranger than fiction. Visitors from a distant place appear in the misty swamps of Northern Finland. As harmless as they are, their foreign presence unwittingly disrupts the pace of local habits. They have come to look for berries, an activity that all of a sudden seems to embody all the values of local culture. Who is to blame and where do the profits end up? How to Pick Berries is an exploration of Finnish mind and the absurdities of global economy.
720 Degrees by Ishtiaque Zico, Bangla Desh (5 min)
An uncut shot of a journey taken to discover the various layers of the relationship between man and nature and the different perceptions of reality within two full circles. The short film storytelling technique exploits the strength of non-diegetic sound elements and explores the freedom of framing techniques.
Woman i by Nuntanat Duangtisarn, Thailand (20 min)
The story is about a man who considers himself as a center of the universe surrounding with all women in his life. Nop, a downhearted film director who was disappointed in his love experience, began to make a new film by creating a story about people whom he love and intimate with to compensate his missing past.
6 pm. : Anti Gas Skin by Kim Gok & Sun (123 min)
A fresco of the social and political malaise of contemporary Korea, between satire, surreal and fantasy. A serial killer who always wears an anti gas mask is spreading terror. Four characters try to hunt him down on the Election Day: Miju, a wolf-girl who leads a sect of younths who are planning a collective suicide, Bosik, a traffic aid who is convinced to be a superhero, Patrick, an American marine on the verge of madness after his Korean fiancee's brutal murder, and the favorite candidate for the post of Mayor of Seoul, Ju Sanggeun, who has received a disquieting death threat.
