ChopShots Travel Festival 2014

On June 8, 2014, the „Chopshots Travel Festival 2014“, organized by the Goethe-Institut Thailand , will take place at the Bangkok Arts and Culture Centre(BACC) where you will have the chance to experience a rich diversity of film cultures from South East Asia. Chosen by the Thai Film Foundation, five films will be presented with two award winning films of the festival, free of admission.
 
For the second time, the Goethe-Institut initiated the ChopShots Documentary Film Festival South East Asia successfully in Jakarta, with support of the EU. To intensify the dialogue between filmmakers and expert, a workshop was conducted, together with a competition between international documentaries and South East Asian short documentaries. A total of 247 films from 49 countries were submitted to the Festival under the direction of DocNet Southeast Asia.
 
The ChopShots Travel Fest sends a best-of-selection of films on a festival tour through the neighbouring countries which include Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, The Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam.
 
The primary mission of the Travel Fest is to foster, promote and showcase emerging new talents from around Southeast Asia who share a positive attitude toward Southeast Asian diversity and to inspire them by sending them on the road.
