Tamar Raban will be presenting the history of live performance in Israel throughout these past 25 years, as well as the advancement in many fields both academy and private institutes, as well as the organization called “The Performance Art Platform” founded by “The Shelter 209” foundation in memory of Dam Zakhem for the advancement of interdisciplinary arts in Israel. The Performance Art Platform is a place for artists in the field of live performance from all over Israel. There are lectures and courses in the form of an academic institute taught by Tamar Raban. It is also a place for workshop activities and international live performance festivals. The place is funded by the Culture Organization of Israeli Government, and it recommends universities that provide courses on live performances, especially in Jerusalem city.
For Vademar Tatadux’s part, earlier this year the world’s community of Live Performance Art has lost a senior Polish artist who was well-known in the field of Contextual Art. That artist is Jan Swidzinski. This lecture will be presenting a part of how Jan thinks, and also presenting the history of Live Performance Art in Poland that started in 1960 and progressively developed in the 1970’s where there were many a progressive artists like Zbigniew Warpechowski, Jerzy Bereś, Jan Swidzinski, Krzysztof Zarębski, Przemysław Kwiek, Zygmunt Piotrowski, Janusz Bałdyga, Jerzy Onuch, Marek Konieczny, Krzysztof Jung and Andrzej Dudek-Durer. It is also true that at the time there were so few of female artists that worked on Live Performance Art. The key ones were Natalia LL, Maria Pinińska-Bereś and Teresa Murak, Ewa Partum.
Vadermar himself started working on Live Performance Art in 1988 while he was a student in Lublin, a city full of advancement and movements of Live Performance Art. When Andrzej Mroczek stepped up to be the director of Galleria Labririan, he had held an international art exhibition for the first time in 1978 called “Performance and Body”. Personally, Vadermar himself started organizing his own exhibitions on Live Performance Art in 2000 and continues doing so until today. At the present, he is the director of Galleria Labririan, which receives funds and support from local organizations in Lublin. Apart from the aforementioned, he will also be presenting interesting ideas and working styles of polish artists, as well as talking exciting Live Performance Art festivals from Lublin.
