Reflections of the City
By Jompol Puatawee and Suttipan Suttichai
Opening exhibition on Saturday 7 January 2017 at 18.00 hrs.
Some objects are always valuable and meaningful for someone. They can also identify to their owners. As I observed homeless people in the capital city, I realized the relationship of life and Thai society and wanted to express this idea through these private objects. – Jompol Puatawee
As the society is filled with capitalism and modern technology, changes occur abruptly. The nature is replaced by new buildings. Simple life is destroyed to prepare for increasing population. With this in mind, I would like to express my feeling toward the present day’s Thai social by using “line” as the main visual element. These ‘lines’ represent the repeating and complicating structure of rules and customs as well as the beauty and truth hidden behind them. – Suttipan Suttichai
