The exhibition “Param-Para” of Pat Yingcharoen is the telling of the story from the past, the events in history to reflect the present through the point of view of the artist by using the “image” from the past including photos, artworks, prints, and etc. Then he recreating it with the process of art by adding, taking away, or put them all together.

Theology is branch of knowledge which’s associate with using objective information both logic and reason to understand and interpret some aspects beyond its own boundaries or we can conclude briefly that theology is subject of using knowledge for revealing something beyond knowledge itself. In the past, human being tried to understand various things that we couldn’t completely control for the purpose of surviving safely in dangerous nature, as well as learning to understand and pleasing gods to avoid disaster. By the way, in Thai society, the sacred and divine power has bounded tight and deeply with social structure in almost every level since politics government until the way of thought or belief. In conclusion, power of Thai modern state is the incarnate form of ancient gods in former times, as if to understand and realize fearfully of unlimited power of those gods for pleasing them and to survive in complicate power structure in Thai society is identically the same.
In this series of works, I prevent of using historical topic directly but instead using ancient mythology, folktales of those western and eastern gods including some stories in religious manuscripts as tools for searching various layers of realities, in this way, those stories may link to any parts of history or other layers of realities in the way of metaphor or allegory.

Comprising historical images such as paintings, photographs, printings, etc. together for demonstrate new story or some specific topic is still my main process that I have been using continuously through many series of my works lately.
