A part of PhotoBangkok 2018, a Bangkok-based international photography festival, Multiple Planes and Perspective is a Thai New Wave photography exhibition co-organised by the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre (BACC) and the PhotoBangkok to be held from July 6th – September 9th 2018 at Main Gallery, 8th Floor, Bangkok Art and Culture Centre, features Thai artists’ photographic related works curated by two guest curators; Mary Pansanga and Alizz Vichchou.
The works in these two exhibitions Multiple Planes and Perspective reflect today’s contemporary photography and its appearance in both idea and process. The various forms of approaching and using photography to create works is what is presented in these exhibitions.
Multiple Planes shows us the various possibilities of the artists approaching and working with photography, introducing alternate perceptions towards the idea of “image” materialised in another platform.
Perspective presents artists thoughts, ideas, and photography techniques and processes toward today society.
Thai New Wave photography exhibition suggests possible ways of understanding the photographic image out of its boundary norm and also the possibility of reflecting meaning through the medium structure and the way to communicate ideas through those images.
The PhotoBangkok 2018, and Multiple Planes and Perspective exhibition, with the opening ceremony held at Bangkok Art and Culture Centre on July 5th at 18.30. Various education activities will also be available at Bangkok Art and Culture Centre from July to September.
