” The Essence: Body and Materiality ” The Contemporary Dance and The Collaborative Lighting Design

" The Essence: Body and Materiality "
The Contemporary Dance and The Collaborative Lighting Design

There is always a relationship in multiple aspects between our lives and our body, our feeling, and our perception. The Essence: Body and Materiality is the project presentation that brings together the differences from Thai dancers and choreographers to present the notion of the material truth associated with our context of living. Starting from gathering the information, analyzing the collected data, through choreographing to communicate the intended message and to present the aesthetic movement from the individual artists.

The ultimate goal of the concert is to give the opportunity and space to Thai dancers and choreographers for presenting their works to public. In addition, this is the good opportunity for them to develop the thinking process, to choreograph the new movement, and to exchange their knowledge to the contemporary dance community. Hopefully, this concert would provide the audience the different aspects of the contemporary dance appreciation.

The Essence: Body and Materiality is fully supported by Bangkok City Ballet and Khopfa Chanpensri. Moreover, the performance is part of the thesis presentation in the MFA in Choreography of Jacksonville University, Florida, US.
