Life reaches a point where the body can't do what it used to. The eyes can't see as before, nor ears hear the same and skin has become wrinkled. Crow's feet on the face and a creased appearance may not be desired, but time cannot be stopped. Jirasak was inspired by the facial signs of aging. Wrinkles indicate a life full of experience and the passage of time. Through the medium of charcoal the artist is able to create a dramatic and realistic portrayal of the elderly face touching and engaging the audience emotionally.
