The Bangkok Art & Culture Centre is proudly presenting the fifth edition of its Early Years Project exhibition. The project, an initiative that seeks to foster a network of up-and-coming and young artists, offers participants valuable opportunities to develop their creativity, artistic approaches, and skills through collaborations with organisations and groups within and beyond the art scene – ultimately paving the way to a full-fledged artistic career. Early Years Project #5 – based on the theme of “Fluidity of Change” – is the latest iteration of the project since its debut in 2016. Rising artists from all over the country are welcome to submit their works and challenge for the final eight spots in the project. The selected artists will receive funding to support their artistic practice under collaboration with the BACC Exhibition Department, offering them insights into collaboration with art and culture organisations as well as various stakeholders.

20/20 has two implications. The terms are the measurement of visual acuity, and in Twenty-twenty, 20/20 derived from the standard of perfect eyesight (20/20). It brought together discourses from different angles in terms of perception and belief and so is the metaphorical exposure through set of information through visuality. This process defines time to consider the rules and knowledge in the past. Therefore, it is the moment where the context of nature and environment needed to be reconsidered and revisited, by creating new perception that shift humans’ perspective and behaviours.

The eight participating artists’ creations will be reviewed by a panel of judges comprising Michael Shaowanasai, Asst. Prof. Dr. Prapon Kumjim, Sanitas Pradittasnee, Asst. Prof. Dr.Supachai Areerungruang, Sureerat Leeswadtrakul and Suebsang Sangwachirapiban. Two winning artists will be chosen to receive mobility and residency funding to further build upon their experiences, creative tendencies, and conceptual thinking as they equip themselves for the art world.

The exhibition is organized by the Exhibition Department, Bangkok Art and Culture Centre.
