Bangkok Theatre Festival 2020 (BTF 2020)
By Bangkok Theatre Network
The 17th Bangkok Theatre Festival (BTF2020), annually presented by Bangkok Theatre Network (BTN), is now back for theatregoers featuring more than 40 performances in 2 weeks. Under the theme “We Make It Possible”, we aim to guarantee safety for audiences in the time of ‘new normal.’
For this year, our highlight performance is "No.60" by Pichet Klunchun (Recipient of Silapathorn Award 2009 in Performing Arts) in collaboration with the Faculty of Music and Performing Arts, Burapha University.
Also, BTN is producing “The Land of Frang Frang in 1684”, a special performance that gathers numerous Thai theatre artists to perform altogether.
For the first time in the festival, a new award “Lifetime Achievement” will be presented to honor the artist who has contributed to Thai theatre scene. The award will be given in the opening ceremony on 21st November 2020 at the center stage located in front of Bangkok Art and Culture Centre (BACC) building.
A lot of good things seem impossible this year, but we will make it possible in the Bangkok Theatre Festival 2020.
21st to 29th November 2020
At Bangkok Art and Culture Centre (BACC) and other venues in Bangkok.
A part of Performative Art Project # 9 will take place in August – December 2020 at Studio, 4th floor and other spaces at Bangkok Art and Culture Centre.
