The Smile of the King
By Twatpong Tangsajjapoj
On the 13th October 2016, Thai people were in sorrow after the great lost of our beloved His Majesty The King Rama IX. To relief my grief, I began to draw and paint the king’s pictures with the addition of little smile to express the feeling of warmth and mercy that reflect in our hearts.
Each picture delivers different aspects of the king’s life, mostly sacrificed to others for over 70 year during his reign. Behind those pictures are knowledges and wisdom from the king that we can learn from. For 5 years with more that 500 drawings shared on popcafe [my Facebook page] , I always feel gratitude that my expressions on those drawings have been touched by the people who still love and respect our beloved king.
