“The tumults of our world” Exhibition
By FRANCAIS DU MONDE THAILANDE
The collection primarily features 50 drawings and watercolors by Jean-Michel Ferry, an accomplished architect, writer, and artist. These pieces were specifically crafted to accompany "The Tumult of Words," a book published in April 2023 in French. Co-authored with writer Jean-Pierre Ghio, this literary and pictorial essay incorporates succinct, pithy sentences in three languages. It provokes existential inquiries concerning environmental concerns, the predicaments of our planet, conflicts, human follies, and the paradox of nature's beauty amid the gradual decline of living organisms. These themes are designed to stimulate contemplation and foster resolutions.
The exhibition presents the original sketchbook, an expansive piece measuring 5 meters with two faces, alongside 50 large-scale reproductions displayed on a curved wall. Additionally, the event includes complimentary workshops, aligning with the exhibition's theme. These sessions, spanning 2 hours each, are available over two weekends and focus on black and white drawing.
