Designers’ Saturday 2024

Beginning in 2004, Designers’ Saturday is the afternoon talk on architecture, design and art hosted by art4d. The program presents not only designers’ work and practice but also shares their visions towards the future of the design industry and global issues.
The first Designers' Saturday of 2024 will present two keynote speakers: Nicolas Medrano from Skidmore, Owings & Merrill and Pruitsatorn Sakulthai from PIA Interior, both of which will share their vision toward the principles design of high-rise building and sustainable interior design. The event will be moderated by Puiphai Khunawat from Creative Crews.
Starting with Nicolas Medrano, a Design Principal at Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM) whose practice is renowned for their iconic buildings such as the Burj Khalifa, One World Trade Center, The ESSE Sukhumvit 36, and One Bangkok (master plan design). Medrano's topic "Climate Action: Designing in the Tropics" will focus on exploring the design of high-rise buildings in the tropical zone and Asia region.
Pruitsatorn Sakulthai, Partner and Design Director at PIA Interior, a leading interior design firm with over 20 years of experience, will feature "The Role of Glass in Interior Architecture," delving into the aspects of glass as a material in sustainable interior design.
