INTERCONNECT: Connecting Pieces for a Sustainable Style

By Moe Moe Lwin, VERSO International School

What do you wear, why do you wear it, and how do you wear it?

Have you ever thought about the impact of your clothes and how you might reduce it?

This exhibition dives into the heart of fast fashion culture—a culture of overproduction and overconsumption of clothing. This trend is particularly ingrained in the younger generation, influenced by the demands of a fast-paced lifestyle. This exhibition discusses a less-discussed solution: modular fashion design. This approach involves styling in interchangeable pieces connected with fasteners such as buttons, strings, or zips. The exhibition presents a creative way to reflect on problems, address sustainability, and explore possibilities in fashion.

Featuring artwork inspired by surrealism, pop art, and modern art, this exhibition includes techniques like papier-collé, photomontage, and assembly. Visitors will journey through different sections, mirroring the artist's exploration of modular fashion.

"INTERCONNECT" invites you to rediscover your connection to clothing and the world.
