The Bangkok Art and Culture Centre, in collaboration with performing arts groups, presents the 13th Performative Art Project. This initiative features a variety of performances designed to promote spaces for exchanging knowledge, ideas, and experiences, fostering dialogue between artists and audiences. The program will run from August to November 2024.
This year, the project includes continuous works by various artist groups, as it does every year, but also introduces a new initiative: the “Performative Art Lab: All About Queer.” This program offers a two-month incubation and training process for emerging artists and arts managers, culminating in a showcase in August. Additionally, the performance “Wilderness I & II” by Thanaphon Accawatanyu from Splashing Theatre, selected for its theme of Fiction & Reality, brings diverse dimensions to contemporary performing arts in Thailand.
Furthermore, the program features the Bangkok International Children’s Theatre Festival (BICT Fest), which broadens the perspective of performing arts for younger audiences and fosters a culture of continuous viewership. Performances by B-Floor Theatre and the Bangkok Theatre Festival play a crucial role in providing platforms for emerging artists and audiences to connect, interact, and create opportunities for future engagement. This interaction helps share experiences, inspire creativity, and continuously invigorate the performing arts scene. Moreover, it aims to expand the audience base, a vital component of the performing arts process.
The Bangkok Art and Culture Centre supports Thai performing artists who consistently create and share their works with audiences through various performance forms, reflecting diverse social dimensions back to society.
