เด็กบ้านป่า: Mystery of the Forest
By Thai Media Fund, Safe and Creative Media Development Fund, Sconte & Phae Revival
Over thirty years ago, I watched my grandparents’ home swallowed by floodwaters—a moment that first showed me the raw power of nature. Since then, disasters have only worsened across Southeast Asia. In 2024, Phrae and Nan were struck by severe floods, and this year, even the watersheds at the sources of rivers began to suffer. Global warming is reshaping the world we live in, and I felt compelled as a designer to tell a story about these urgent challenges.
A Forest Story follows a boy from the city whose journey to the countryside awakens him to the beauty and interconnectedness of nature. Inspired by the idea of “Indigo children”—souls believed to come to Earth to help heal it—this comic explores how children can rediscover their bond with the natural world, learning how to live with it, protect it, and belong to it once more.
To launch this vision, we are opening with an art exhibition: A Forest Story: Mystery of the Forest. Visitors will be able to step inside the world of the comic, walking through scenes and ideas from the first volume. The exhibition acts as both an introduction and an invitation—an opportunity to feel the atmosphere, themes, and imagination behind A Forest Story before turning the pages of the story itself.
