The Bangkok Theatre Festival returns in 2025 to bring together Thailand’s most vibrant live performance community in one grand celebration. With over 70 performances across various genres, this festival stands as one of the country’s most inclusive and comprehensive platforms for live performing arts.

About the Festival

The Bangkok Theatre Festival is an annual event in Bangkok dedicated to promoting, supporting, and elevating Thailand’s performing arts. Over more than two decades, it has become one of the festivals that brings together the widest range of live performance—offering a stage for emerging and established artists to share their work, fostering dialogue between performers and audiences, and cultivating deeper appreciation for the theatrical arts in Thailand.

A Showcase of Live Performance Diversity

This year, the festival features over 70 performances spanning a rich variety of forms, including:

• Spoken Drama
• Puppet Theatre
• Mime / Silent Theatre
• Children’s & Youth Theatre
• Musical Theatre
• Dance & Physical Theatre
• Mixed Media Performance
• Thai Folk Musical Theatre
• Stage Readings

These multiple genres reflect the festival’s commitment to showcasing the full spectrum of live performance.

Venues

For 2025, the festival will take place in both closed / ticketed stages and open-access performance zones:

• Main (Closed) Venues include:
  • Bangkok Art and Culture Centre (BACC)
  • TK Park
  • Independent theatre spaces across Bangkok
• Open-Access Zone:
  • Samyan Mitrtown, Sky Garden (Level 5)
  The festival is grateful to Samyan Mitrtown for generously providing this sky garden area as an open space where performers can “open hat” and present shows without requiring advance tickets. Audiences are invited to drop in and enjoy performances free of charge.

This hybrid arrangement ensures the festival remains accessible to the public while maintaining high-quality theatrical presentations under controlled settings.
