The Bangkok Art and Culture Centre (BACC) presents ‘Catch the Moon | Chatchai Puipia I The Caught Years’. This landmark exhibition is the first and most comprehensive presentation dedicated to Chatchai Puipia, a revolutionary artist whose distinctive visual language and incisive social satire have shaped contemporary Thai art.
For more than four decades, Chatchai’s practice has evolved into a profound exploration of identity, memory, and perception. His art combines precise observation with deep personal reflection, forming a body of work that continues to resonate within global conversations on contemporary art and influence artists across Asia and beyond.
The exhibition features more than 140 works, ranging from iconic paintings and powerful sculptures to rarely seen installations and new pieces shown to the public for the first time. Beyond these major artworks, a rich collection of writings, documents, and personal photographs offers rare insight into the artist’s creative world, opening a dialogue between art, memory, and imagination.
We warmly welcome you and offer the ‘key’ to unlock the doors of ‘Catch the Moon’, inviting you to explore the meanings, ideals, and artistic philosophies that have shaped Chatchai’s practice, and to become part of a new chapter that begins here.
