EMERGE 2025

HOP – Hub of Photography proudly presents “EMERGE 2025” the 4th year of a continuous project that aims to create a space for new generation photography artists to showcase their artistic potential, conveying contemporary perspectives and concepts through various forms of photography.

Since its inception in 2022, EMERGE has served as a launchpad and provided support to over 120 emerging photographers, offering them opportunities to exhibit their work to the public in gallery spaces and on online platforms.

This year, EMERGE 2025 has grown and expanded its scope into 3 sub-exhibitions that reflect new dimensions of the Thai photography scene:

• Open Call Exhibition at BACC pop • up 

A special collaboration between HOP – Hub of Photography and BACC pop • up, jointly creating a space for young artists aged 18-25 from across the country and from abroad, offering an opportunity for contemporary photography works to be presented in a leading art space of the country. The selection process is carried out by a committee of esteemed experts who play a significant role in the art and photography circles, including Mary Pansanga, Thanapol Kaewpring, and Manit Sriwanichpoom, together with curatorial teams from HOP and BACC pop • up who closely oversee the selection and exhibition arrangement. This ensures the platform becomes a starting point for the new generation of artists to securely enter the world of art and photography profession.

• The Editions at HOP Photo Gallery 

An exhibition of curated photography works from thesis exhibitions across the country throughout 2024-2025, selected by the HOP curatorial team who traveled to seek out works by young artists brimming with contemporary perspectives and new viewpoints in the world of photography. Each work reflects the power of creativity, experimentation, and diverse interpretations a “Reflection of the New Generation” transitioning from the classroom to the real working world.

• Zine Showcase at HOP CLUB Photobook Library 

An exhibition space for small-format publications (Zine) and photobooks from students and young artists nationwide, conveying personal concepts through an independent, accessible print media format, serving as a significant trace of contemporary photography culture.

EMERGE 2025 is not just a series of exhibitions but an ecosystem for growth, a confluence between the world of “Education” and “Contemporary Photography Art” created by HOP, allowing the works of new-generation artists to be seen, receive advice from experts, and have a space to expand their potential toward professional careers in the future.

This project is made possible through collaborations with key partners: MMAD, BACC pop • up, NABA (Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti, Italy), Canon Thailand, and TQPR Thailand, all of whom believe in the power of young artists and the value of photography art in driving contemporary society.

Additional activities: 

The additional workshop and portfolio review program is open to emerging artists who have submitted their work for selection in EMERGE 2025. These activities provide a space for young artists to present their bodies of work, develop their ideas through their portfolios, and engage in meaningful conversations to receive constructive feedback from artists, curators, and photography experts.

Participants will engage in dialogue, receive in-depth feedback, and gain clear, practical guidance to further refine and strengthen their portfolios—preparing themselves for future opportunities and professional platforms ahead.
