Blooming in Crisis and Uncomfortable Truth in Myanmar

By Spirit in Education Movement (SEM)

February 2026 marks five years since the Myanmar military’s attempted seizure of power, triggering widespread violence, repression, and a deepening humanitarian crisis. Since then, countless lives have been lost, millions displaced, communities fractured, and deep psychological trauma under ongoing conflict and fear. Much of this suffering stems from long-standing structural injustices, now intensified under military rule. Yet the crisis has also revealed people’s power.

Bringing together mixed-media artworks and collective reflection, this exhibition centers voices directly affected by the coup and armed conflict, inviting the audience to consider not only what has been lost, but what must be transformed—and how we might stand together in rebuilding Myanmar’s future, with possibility and hope.
