Open Call: Generative AI Workshop for Artists & Creatives
Bangkok Art and Culture Centre presents an AI Workshop on Generative AI, offering an accessible, hands-on introduction to how artificial intelligence is reshaping creative practice today.
Generative AI is increasingly part of everyday life, producing images, text, sound, and design. Yet for many, it remains opaque and difficult to understand. This workshop invites participants to explore how generative AI works and how artists engage with it – not as a replacement for human creativity, but as a creative collaborator. Designed for artists, students, educators, and curious members of the public, the workshop emphasizes experimentation rather than technical expertise. Participants will engage directly with generative AI tools, learning how prompts, choices, and constraints shape creative outcomes. No prior technical knowledge is required.
This workshop encourages reflection. What does it mean to create with AI? Where does authorship reside when outcomes are partially unpredictable? How do cultural perspectives shape the use of these technologies? Through guided discussion, participants are invited to think critically about both the possibilities and limitations of generative systems. Situated within Bangkok’s dynamic cultural context, the workshop highlights that AI is not culturally neutral. Creative uses of AI are shaped by language, history, and local ways of seeing. The workshop offers a welcoming space to learn, experiment, and imagine new relationships between humans, machines, and creativity.
Participation is limited to 20 participants only.
Applicants should be artists or creatives interested in experimenting with generative AI. Participants must be able to communicate in English. There is no age or educational requirement, and no prior knowledge of AI is necessary. Please submit a short CV and a brief statement explaining your interest in joining this workshop. All documents must be compiled and submitted as a single PDF file.
