blurborders International Performance Art eXchange 2026 Returns, Connecting European and Asian Artists blurborders International performance art eXchange a premier global network for live art, is set to transform the Studio on the 4th floor of the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre (BACC) into a dynamic hub for artistic experimentation and cross-cultural dialogue. This highly anticipated annual festival will take place from August 7–9, 2026, under the evocative theme
“Intimate Distance”.
This year, the festival is honored to host world-class performance artists from Europe and Asia, who will travel to Bangkok to create new works and exchange perspectives with seven Thai contemporary artists. The international lineup features four visionary artists from Norway, three from Poland, and one from Nepal.
2026 Festival Highlights:
The Power of Collectives : A special feature of this year’s edition is the emphasis on group creation. Poland’s Freya Frederick collective—comprising Anna Kalwajtys, Dorota Androsz, and Dorota Cilińska—will bring their profound collaborative energy to the stage. Representing the host nation, the Charan Collective—a rising generation of Thai artists to watch, featuring Chomphunut Phutta, Anucha Hemmala, and Anuchit Hemmala—will showcase their teamwork and shared vision, promising to redefine the dimensions of live performance art.
The Fusion of Poetry and Movement: Another highly anticipated highlight is the work of Kurt Johannessen a prominent artist from Norway. Renowned for his unique artistic vocabulary, Johannessen seamlessly weaves “poetry” into live performance, offering the audience a groundbreaking aesthetic experience and a deeply introspective sensory journey.
