The Second Ukrainian Film Festival in Thailand

On the occasion of the 35th Anniversary of Ukraine’s Independence, the Embassy of Ukraine in The Kingdom of Thailand is organising the Second Ukrainian Film Festival in Thailand at the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre (BACC). Public screenings will take place on 5 and 6 August 2026. The festival will feature a selection of Ukrainian films representing different genres, including biographical and historical drama, family adventure, and contemporary documentary. Through these films, audiences will have an opportunity to discover more about Ukraine’s culture, history, and the experiences of Ukrainian people today.
Programme:
Wednesday, 5 August
16.00 hrs. : Malevych (2025) – a biographical drama about the life and artistic journey of the famous Ukrainian avant-garde artist Kazymyr Malevych.
18.00 hrs. : The Underground Garden (2026) – a documentary about a children’s art studio operating in a Kharkiv bomb shelter and preparing for its first international exhibition.
Thursday, 6 August
15.00 hrs. : The Stronghold (2017) – a family fantasy adventure inspired by the legends and heroes of Kyivan Rus’.
18.00 hrs. : War Through the Eyes of Animals (2025) – an anthology of short films created with the participation of Oscar-winning actor Sean Penn and based on real stories of animals living during wartime.
