The Territory of Growth
Curated by Assistant Professor Wutigorn Kongka, Department of Fine Art, Media Art and Illustration Art, School of Architecture, Art, and Design, King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang
LIMINALITY : This exhibition overview explores the state of standing on the threshold between an old condition and a new one, a moment of deciding to step away from a former role, while still in the process of forming one’s identity and searching for direction. It presents the creative works of Fine Arts students who are going through a major transition: from being students to becoming artists and creators, from experimenting and developing skills within an educational space to presenting their work in public spaces and on professional artists’ stages.
All the works on display are therefore not merely results or conclusions of study, but starting points for exploration, experimentation, decision-making, and the declaration of identity through the creative process. Each work reflects the differing perspectives, experiences, interests, and possibilities of these emerging artists, who are learning to define their own direction and forge their own path.
The exhibition space thus becomes a “space of transition,” offering students the chance to step outside the context of the classroom and face audiences, society, and the real world of work. At the same time, it is a space that supports emerging artists in showing their potential, communicating their ideas, and beginning a new chapter of creation as practicing artists.
