“Good to Walk”, a site-specific design exhibition by prominent Thai designers from different fields. For this exhibition, the designers will creatively transform the walkway between floors 7-9 into something unexpected to create a one-of-a-kind walking experience for the viewers.
It is no surprise that space, often times, has a strong psychological impact on one’s behavior. For example, most visitors at Bangkok Art and Culture Centre tend to rely on escalators or an elevator rather than hiking up and down the ramp that connect the main galleries. Perhaps it is the physicality of its slope and the distance that contribute to the cause. “Good to Walk” showcases innovative ideas and experiments concerning the issue of psychological impact of space through artistic creations by renowned designers from 5 different design disciplines. Each designer masterfully employed various techniques and materials to create distinctive works that promise to provide a unique walking experience, which could potentially lead to new ideas, fascinating interests or even changes in behavior.
Our lifestyles, behaviors, and cultures are undeniably involved around a space, directly and indirectly. In a way, this exhibition is a reflection of human behaviors based on studies and observations. Here, viewers are presented with an opportunity to decide how they will interact with the altered space. From seeing, touching, sitting to playing, the possibilities of discovering new aspects of space are endless. “Good to Walk” is an experimental exhibition that aims to create a dynamic walking experience and encourage viewers to rethink about our relationship with private and public space. - Immediate source of acquisition or transfer
