About Christina Kubisch:
Christina Kubisch was born in Bremen in 1948. She studied painting, music and electronics in Hamburg, Graz, Zürich and Milano, where she graduated. She has worked in performances, concerts and works with video in the seventies, subsequently sound installations, sound sculptures and works with ultraviolet light. Her compositions are mostly electroacoustic, but she has written for ensembles as well. Christina Kubisch has been a visiting professor in Maastricht, Paris and Berlin. She has been a professor for sound art at the Academy of Fine Arts, Saarbrücken, Germany, from 1994 to 2013. She is a member of the Akademie der Künste Berlin since 1997.

About Miti Ruangkritya:
Miti Ruangkritya is a Thai based image-maker whose work has been exhibited through international exhibitions and festivals. Highlights include: ‘Selected Winner’ by The Magenta Foundation for Emerging Photographers (UK); Solo exhibition at 2902 in Singapore, Kathmandu Gallery in Bangkok and ICI in Venice; Miti has exhibit at festivals including Arles, Format, Noorderlicht, and Singapore Photo. His portfolio has been featured in British Journal of Photography, De L’air and Le Monde, and he has participated at the Angkor workshop with Antoine D’Agata whom he has also assisted in Pattaya. Miti is one of the featured emerging artists at Bangkok University Gallery. He has recently won the ‘Portfolio Reviewers Award’ at Format Festival and nominated for this year Prix Pictet.

Curated by Pichaya Aime Suphavanij, BACC Head of Exhibitions, the project consisted of two components; the first part is an electromagnetic walk of Christina Kubisch guiding audience through city with a map and custom-made headphone catching magnetic sound that are inaudible to naked ears, and the second part is the installation of field-recorded images of Miti Ruangkritya providing a reflexive urban context. The installation of images will be synaestheticized with sound recomposed by Christina Kubisch in which the audience could activate via audio-guide to audibly move about crafting their own listening and seeing experience in the exhibition space.
The juxtaposition of Christina Kubisch’s electromagnetic audio piece and Miti Ruangkritya’s visual language proposes a trans-media narrative that becomes alternative perceptions to our urban ritual of street walking in Bangkok. It accentuates the presence of media through the art of sound as well as the profound context forming contrapuntal aspects to experience the city. The works prolong perceptibility of the audience to mark the omnipresent of media in our increasingly technological environment. Hence, the title Omnivoyeur, a psychoanalytical concept “ I see the world but I am looked at from all sides” by Jacques Lacan, the project offers a reverse in action through the artworks where the audience is encouraged to become more instrumental in perceiving both politics and poetic of media hidden in their urban everyday surrounding.
