‘The Day Granny Broke the Internet’

A family’s day is turned upside down when granny breaks the internet worldwide. Everyone, even the pizza delivery guy, is forced to put their screens down….
No internet for a day, would you love it or panic?

The authorMarc-Uwe Kling was born in 1982 in Stuttgart. He is an author and songwriter, best known for his witty, satirical humor and clever wordplay. His works often explore topics such as technology, capitalism, media, and social behavior, using comedy to highlight and question aspects of modern life.

‘Bedtime Stories for Celeste’

When mum and dad go out for the evening, big brother is left to babysit his little sister. She wants nothing but scary bedtime stories, but however hard he tries, Celeste just won’t get scared…
The 2025 Bologna Ragazzi Award winner pairs a delightful story with the unique artistic collaboration of two illustrators, each bringing their own distinctive style.

The authors
Nikolaus Heidelbach was born in 1955 in Lahnstein am Rhein and now lives in Cologne. He studied German language and literature, art history and theatre studies. Today, he is one of Germany’s renowned authors and illustrators of children’s books. He is best known for his unique artistic style and his thoughtful portrayals of childhood, which go beyond traditional idealized images of young people.
Ole Könnecke is an author and illustrator. He was born in Göttingen in 1961, grew up in Sweden and now lives in Hamburg. Having studied German language and literature, Ole has also translated Swedish children’s books into German.

The event is organized by The Goethe-Institut Thailand in collaboration with Sandclock Books and the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre.

The translation of the books was partly supported by a grant from the Goethe-Institut.was born in Göttingen in 1961, grew up in Sweden and now lives in Hamburg. Having studied German language and literature, Ole has also translated Swedish children’s books into German.
