The Bangkok Art and Culture Centre invites performing artists across various disciplines to submit proposals for venue support and production grants as part of the 16th Performative Art Project 2027. Held annually by the BACC, the season runs from August through November.

Applicants must be available to stage their performances in October 2027. Proposals may span a wide spectrum of formats and intersect with various cultural practices under the curatorial framework “Spiritual.” We encourage fluid, open interpretations without limitation to specific disciplines or modes of presentation.

Alongside this open call, the Project has invited solo practitioners, collectives, and performing arts festivals to expand the boundaries of performing arts through the theme, fostering a rich environment for artistic dialogue throughout this 16th Performative Art Project.

Interested artists are invited to submit a project proposal together with the required supporting materials for curatorial review. Selected works will receive venue access, partial technical equipment and assistance, promotional support, and a creative development grant in accordance with project guidelines. Full selection criteria and requirements are outlined below:

Selection Criteria and Requirements for Artist Support
1.The Project supports performing artists across all disciplines, including but not limited to spoken drama, musical theatre, dance, physical theatre, puppetry, shadow theatre, and mime. Cross-disciplinary projects integrating mediums such as music, film, and literature are highly encouraged. Applications are open to both solo practitioners and artistic collectives.
2.Submitted projects must represent contemporary practice and respond to the theme “Spiritual.” Applicants are invited to interpret this concept broadly and articulate their creative vision clearly within the project proposal to allow the selection panel a comprehensive insight into the work.
3.The projects must be multidisciplinary, engaging with diverse creative fields, such as visual arts, literature, music, or cinema.
4.Works will be assessed on their artistic quality, aesthetic merit, creative innovation, and potential for positive social resonance. Proposals should demonstrate the ability to generate new knowledge or inspire the wider performing arts community.
5.Submissions must be original, new works that have not previously been staged or presented in public.
6.Applicants must possess a minimum of four years of professional practice in the performing arts sector, whether as key creative leads or performers.
7.Selected projects are required to present a minimum of four showtimes.
8.In addition to the performance run, each project must incorporate post-show talks or supplementary public activities, proportionate to the number of staging dates (typically 1–2 sessions).
9.Proposals must include a concession-tiered pricing structure, offering designated ticket rates for general admission, students (up to undergraduate level, aged 25 and under), senior citizens (60 and over), and audiences with disabilities.
10.Applicants may submit only one project proposal per individual or group.
11.Applications must be fully completed and include: The official application form, a comprehensive project proposal, and a letter of recommendation from an established arts professional or cultural organisation.
**The BACC reserves the right to provide management guidance throughout the production, preparation, and staging stages. The Centre also maintains the right to cancel the production should a project be deemed unready for public staging, in the best interests of both the artist and the audience.
**In the event that a selected artist is unable to deliver or chooses to cancel the performance independently, the artist will be liable for room/venue cancellation fees and will be required to fully reimburse any grant funding provided by the BACC.

Support Package
1.A creative production grant of 70,000 THB
2.25 days (or 4 weeks) of venue access at the Studio, 4th Floor, BACC (inclusive of load-in, set build, rehearsals, public performances, and load-out)
3.Partial technical assistance, including lighting equipment, sound systems, projectors, and related gear
4.Promotional support and professional performance photography coverage
**Upon completion of the performance run, selected artists are required to submit a project evaluation report as an official record for the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre Foundation.

3.Announcement of selected projects: Tuesday, 26 December 2026

**In the event of an incomplete application, the project management team will assess the proposal strictly based on the documents received.

**Applicants must be available to attend an online interview on the designated dates.
