When Play Becomes a Language of Love, and Art Brings Us Closer

Education Department of Bangkok Art and Culture Centre and Bangkok Climate Action Week (BKKCAW) in partnership with Dance for All Thailand invites children aged 4–12 and their parents, guardians, or caregivers to explore a world of imagination through movement, live music, visual arts, creative making, and object puppetry using everyday materials in Workshop 2: “Growing Together: Parent–Child Workshop / Connecting Through Movement, Art, and Stories.” This multisensory learning experience builds on Workshop 1: “Planting Creativity: Parent Workshop,” which encouraged adults to Wait • Listen • Understand • Create Space for Creativity to Grow, inviting children and adults to strengthen their connection through play, art, and storytelling while helping children feel Seen • Heard • Held • Hugged—recognized, listened to, emotionally secure, and loved.

Through play and attunement—sensing and adjusting to one another’s rhythms—children and adults will discover new ways to connect beyond words and create an imaginative garden together.

The workshop consists of three parts:
Part 1: MOVE & CONNECT • MOVE & DRAW
Make the Invisible String Visible
Explore the bonds of connection inspired by The Invisible String through movement, lines, colors, and live music. Maneerut Singhanart (Kru Ann) – TING-A-TONG and Wipavee Patoompong (Kru Som) will guide each parent–child pair in experimenting with rhythm, sound, and imagination, creating a dialogue between two bodies without the need for words.

Part 2: CREATE & CONNECT — MY IMAGINARY GARDEN
Transform Ordinary Cardboard into a Magical Garden of Our Own
Parents and children become creative partners, working with Michela Currone (Kru Michela) to create imaginative trees, flowers, and living creatures from cardboard and other creative materials. Together, they will brainstorm, design, paint, cut, and assemble shapes, exploring new possibilities while sharing ideas and expressing themselves throughout the process. Finally, all creations will come together to form an imaginative garden filled with the unique ideas and stories of each pair.

Part 3: THE GARDEN COMES ALIVE!
When the Imaginary Garden Comes to Life
Discover the magic of Ta Lent Show Theatre, where everyday objects and unexpected materials are transformed into a variety of animal puppets. Inspired by a safari adventure, the puppet performance invites children into a world of wonder, accompanied by live music from Kru Ann of TING-A-TONG. Rhythm, sound, and movement bring the garden created by all the families to life, transforming it into an adventurous world filled with fun, surprises, and endless possibilities. From everyday materials to works of art, from works of art to stories, and from stories to a living world of imagination!
